A decorated limestone incense altar was also found in the middle room of this building. It had fallen, along with a lot of pottery—storage jars, bowls, jugs and a pithos—from a room on the second story. It isn’t known yet whether this happened at the same time as the destruction of the gate, but excavations this summer may help answer that question.
