Another round. Excavation team member Nivi Mirkam stands beside a corridor entrance at el-Ahwat that has much in common with the entrance to a restored nuragic tholos in Sardinia (see photograph); similarities include dry-laid stone construction and a large lintel. Tholoi at el-Ahwat probably also had corbelled (false) domes made of repeating courses of stone, like the rounded roof of the Sardinia structure, which has no supporting arch.
