Schøyen’s Dead Sea Scroll collection includes fragments from the Qumran sect’s Manual of Discipline. This text contained the Qumran community’s rules of organization and discipline as well as its liturgies and blessings. Schøyen’s fragment contains blessings to be given by the sect’s master, the Teacher of Righteousness, at the commencement of the soon-anticipated Messianic age.
