Another impressive architectural fragment from Omrit is an ionic capital, originally part of a colonnaded promenade running north from the temple to the entrance of the entire Omrit complex. The high quality of the architectural remains at Omrit leads the authors to believe that the first temple there was Herod’s shrine to Augustus.
