Vying for eternal glory. After the death of Tutankhamun in 1327 B.C.E., one of the young pharaoh’s former advisers, Ay, became ruler of Egypt. Ay (depicted here) began construction on a mortuary temple at Medinet Habu . However, he died three years into his reign, leaving the temple unfinished.
