In America and Europe in the late 1970s, fans of punk music created their own counterculture style: spiky hair, tattoos and earrings or ear studs. Now the ear plug has become a punk fashion accessory and is gaining in popularity. Dothan has spotted ear plugs on many young people in Israel–but few of them are aware of the plug’s Philistine connection!
