An artist’s reconstruction depicts how the Monastery of the Virgins may have looked in the early Byzantine period. The chapel was most likely located in the upper story (top right). Chancel screens separated worshipers from the altar in the chapel’s apse. The artist has conjectured that the reliquary was placed in the level below the altar.
