THE BENEFACTOR’S FINAL RESTING PLACE. Ramat Hanadiv, meaning Heights of the Benefactor, is named for Baron Edmond de Rothschild, who lent considerable financial support to the Zionist settlements in Ottoman Palestine. Rothschild died in Paris in 1934 at age 89; however in 1954 his body was reinterred in the beautiful gardens of Ramat Hanadiv, situated on the crest between Horvat ‘Aqav and Horvat ‘Eleq.
