Good for teeth, bad for bullae: The IAA’s Uzi Dahari claims that fluoride has been detected in the extraordinary “Hezekiah ben Ahaz” bulla (seal impression, left, drawing right), indicating not only that it is a fake but that its fabricator was foolish enough to use Israeli tapwater to make it. Dahari pointed out several other counterfeits on the PowerPoint slide. The object labeled “Hezekiyahu ben Ahaz” on the slide is an impression made by the same seal that created the impression in the photo.
