A woman kneels to do her laundry in what had long been known as the Pool of Siloam. Byzantine-era Christians assumed this pool was the Biblical Siloam and built a church here. Thanks to the recent discovery, we now know that the Biblical Pool of Siloam was just southeast of this site.
