The storejars shown here could serve as bookends for the history of the Philistines at Ekron. The jars being brushed by a volunteer in the photo testify to the Philistines’ own demise: They date to the 604 B.C.E. destruction of Ekron by Nebuchadnezzar of Babylonia.
