Photo of cuneiform tablet by Erich Lessing

The cuneiform tablet, found on the surface by a tourist at Hazor, describes a lawsuit brought by three plaintiffs against a local woman regarding a house and two orchards. The king of Hazor heard the case in court and ruled in favor of the woman. The tablet, one of several found at Hazor, apparently belonged to an archive, suggesting a royal administrative center existed at Hazor.
