PIONEERS IN THE HOLY LAND. Riding on camelback for more than 13,000 miles, Czech anthropologist and orientalist Alois Musil carried out a topographical and historical survey of Edom in the early 20th century, which included identification of the massive fortress at Khirbat en-Nahas.
