THE ARK OF THE COVENANT? The film argues that a group of Israelites broke off from Moses and sailed to Greece (it does not explain how they found the ships to carry them there). The film claims that these Israelites took with them the gold they had obtained from the Egyptians. In Greece the Israelites fashioned the gold into the treasures that were later discovered in the ancient tombs of Mycenae, supposedly the last resting place of these Israelites. In one of these tombs were a few small gold plaques, now displayed in the National Archaeological Museum in Athens, depicting a tripartite shrine. Film producer Jacobovici interprets one part of this shrine as depicting the Ark of the Covenant in which the two tablets Moses brought down from Mt. Sinai were placed.
