This magnificent horse once stood atop the stepped pyramid as part of the four-horse chariot team. The head and forebody, in two separate pieces, are the largest fragments of the Mausoleum sculptures to survive. The fragments of the bronze bridle are original. The four horses stood 16 feet high and extended approximately 21 feet from head to tail. It is unknown whether the chariot included a driver or if that driver was Maussollos.
