To what deity the 5,500-year-old temple was dedicated is unknown. The temple shrine is marked by a semicircular row of stones, in the center of which is a round block of white crystalline limestone (as shown in the plan ). The excavators believe this stone formed the base of a statue of the deity to whom the temple was dedicated.
