Baskets of grain flax and fruit are set out to dry on the roof of an Israelite four-room house, seen in the foreground, adjacent to the fortification tower of the city gate. A cooking pot hangs in the central courtyard below (lower right). In summer the lattice structure on the left would be covered with vines to provide shade.
