A LUCKY FIND. Six-year-old Elizabeth Shanks found this small, inch-and-a-half-long pot handle, incised with a figure wearing a pointed hat and upturned shoes. The figure appears to be holding a staff in one hand and a spear in the other. Legendary archaeologist Yigael Yadin identified the image as that of a Syro-Hittite deity from the Late Bronze Age (13th century B.C.).
