Aphrodisias’s theater-like bouleuterion, which functioned as the city’s town hall during Roman times, had by the fifth century become a venue for various public events, including lectures and musical and theatrical performances. Jews, like some of the factional and religious communities living at Aphrodisias, had seating areas reserved for them.
