Four calves serve as handles on the lid of this ivory cosmetic box. The side of the box, which stands 3.75 inches high, is decorated with scenes of a king at a banquet. His attendant swats flies with one hand and holds a wine strainer in the other. Other scenes on the side show a man leading a bull toward a tree and a goddess between two palm trees.
