South of Jerusalem on the Madaba map, approximately where Horvat Midras is located, is a site designated “Bethzachar[ia],” the house of Zechariah, as well as a structure labeled the “sanctuary of Zechariah.” Is Horvat Midras the site designated on the Madaba map at “Bethzachar[ia]”? And was the church meant to mark the tomb of the ancient Hebrew prophet Zechariah?
