Works of Art. The Late Bronze Age produced the earliest spectacular finds at Beth Shean. The 14th-century “Lion and Dog” stela is a unique piece of art—one of the few from the site that may be local Canaanite, possibly with inspiration from northern Canaan (i.e., Syria).
