FIT FOR PHARAOH’S DAUGHTER. A centuries-long tradition associates this Jerusalem tomb with pharaoh’s daughter who married Solomon. Its pyramid top long quarried away and the tomb itself “renovated” by monks living in it during the Byzantine period, the tomb is now in the Silwan neighborhood of Jerusalem on the eastern slope of the Kidron Valley. Its current tourist status suffers from its unpleasant, not to say hostile, surroundings.
