“THE ILLUMINATED OSIRIS” reads part of the inscription on this lower portion of an Egyptian shabti (funerary figurine) found in Jerusalem in the mid-1900s. Based on parallels with similar finds, it can be dated to the 19th Egyptian Dynasty and measures 2.2 by 1.3 inches. Osiris is the Egyptian god of the dead.
