PICKY PICKY. Since its beginning in 2005, tens of thousands of volunteers and staff have worked the sieves at the wet-sifting project run by Gabriel Barkay and Zachi Dvira in Jerusalem. Originally set up to process the many tons of soil excavated illegally from the Temple Mount and dumped in the Kidron Valley by the Waqf, the operation now undertakes the wet-sifting of excavated soil from other professional digs around Jerusalem. The results have been astonishing.
