Montague Parker agreed to allow Father Louis-Hugues Vincent (shown here) from Jerusalem’s École Biblique to accompany him as “archaeological advisor.” Despite the unscientific circumstances of the excavations, Father Vincent’s detailed notes, maps and plans from the expedition have proven very clear and reliable—an important resource for today’s archaeologists.
