Garo Nalbandian

TWO OF A KIND? Immediately to the right of the entrance to Tunnel IV from the Round Chamber, a smooth shallow plaque measuring 15 by 19 inches can be seen carved into the rock wall. It seems to have been prepared for an inscription, much like the Siloam Inscription at the southern end of Hezekiah’s Tunnel, but for some reason this one was never inscribed. Reich and Shukron see this as additional support for their theory that the carving of Hezekiah’s Tunnel began in Tunnel IV.
