A similar situation prevailed at the nearly contemporaneous temple of Apollo at Bulla Regia in North Africa, where a woman was found buried with an iron collar around her neck with a Latin inscription reading: “Adulteress. Prostitute. Seize (me), because I fled from Bulla Regia.”
