PLACING THE PALACE. A woman stands in the northeast corner of the Large Stone Structure, which Eilat Mazar identifies as the remains of King David’s palace. The Book of Samuel refers to David’s royal residence several times (2 Samuel 5:11; 2 Samuel 11; 2 Samuel 16:22). The combination of Biblical and archaeological evidence tends to confirm that Mazar has indeed found the remains of David’s palace.
