THANKS FOR THE WATER. Taharqa, the Nubian pharaoh of Egypt’s 25th Dynasty, has been identified with the Ethiopian king Tirhakah in the Bible, who fought against the Assyrian King Sennacherib during the reign of Hezekiah. An inscription on this statuette describes Taharqa offering two round vases of wine to the little-known Egyptian falcon-god Hemen for providing Egypt with a bountiful flood during a time of drought.
