THEATER IN THE ROUND. This 360-degree camera at the Spurlock Museum captures the full cylindrical face of each seal. In the foreground is a rotating pedestal with a cylinder seal set vertically on it. This is synchronized with a high-resolution progressive scanning cartridge inserted into the back of a 4 by 5 inch view camera. The cartridge takes 1-pixel-wide images of the same place while the seal slowly rotates and puts each image side-by-side to create a flat image of the entire surface of the seal.
