A BETTER IMPRESSION THAN AN IMPRESSION. The details on this 360-degree seal photo reveal minute details on the faces of the goddesses Ishtar (left) and Lama (right). The Old Babylonian king, however, is not given a face at all, suggesting that this seal could be used to reflect an official position rather than an individual. Indeed, the seal shows evidence of reusage; a second owner carved two crooks and a gazelle (lower right) over the name of a previous owner.
