BATHHOUSE. This re-erected Ionic column once stood in the bathhouse of the Herodian palace. Probably twelve Ionic columns lined the apodyterium (entry hall), creating a grand entrance for the opulent bathhouse. Keeping with the principles of anastylosis, only original Herodian architectural fragments were used to recreate the Ionic column.
