THE TALE OF THE POTTERY. Qurayyah Painted Ware from the 12th–11th centuries B.C.E., the generally accepted timing of the Exodus according to those who accept its historicity, was found scattered across the site—both geographically and chronologically. This thorough dispersal suggests an early settlement at the site. The Qurayyah Painted pottery sherds come from Qurayyah in modern Saudi Arabia.
