CAVE DÉCOR. Two small pieces of marble decorated with gold leaf were found between the altar and the cave wall: one with an acanthus leaf design (shown here) and one depicting a griffin. Both bore remnants of plaster, indicating the pieces were part of the same marble wall panel.
