MARRYING THE ENEMY. In a strange political turn, the Hittite king receives a letter from his enemy, the queen of Egypt, stating that her husband has died and that she needs a new one. She requests that the Hittite king send her one of his many sons to wed. After much convincing, the Hittite king agrees, but the union was ill-fated, and the son was killed (likely by Egyptian detractors) en route to the wedding.
