AMMONITE DEITIES. Several Iron Age depictions of Milcom, the main god of the Ammonites, have survived from Rabbah; one is pictured here. Bearded and stern-faced, Milcom wears an Egyptian crown, a symbol of a deity in Syria-Palestine. This Ammonite statue would have had inlaid eyes.
