TRIUMPHANT TITUS. Standing 50 feet tall, the Arch of Titus celebrates the military success of the Roman general Titus during the First Jewish War (66–74 C.E.). The arch itself was built by the Senate and the people of Rome around 81 C.E., shortly after Titus’s death.
