TABLE OF SHOWBREAD. This coin from the Bar-Kokhba Revolt, or Second Jewish Revolt (132–136 C.E.), depicts the table of showbread within Jerusalem’s Temple. The table held the special loaves baked for the sacrificial service (Leviticus 24:5–9). Without seeing this coin, Donald H. Sanders and his team at the Institute for the Visualization reconstructed the table of showbread in the Arch of Titus’s menorah panel to look very similar to the square table on this ancient coin.
