INFANT JAR BURIAL. During the Middle Bronze Age and the very beginning of the Late Bronze Age (c. 2000–1500 B.C.E.), Sidon served as a burial site. From this period, 142 burials have been excavated to date, including this jar burial of an infant. Encased in a ceramic coffin, the infant was buried with a juglet and a pot.
