CROUCHING LIONS. With open mouths, these identical ivory lions appear to be roaring. They were discovered at Samaria and stand under 2 inches tall. Considered the best of the roughly 500 ivory works from Samaria, they have holes in their backs, suggesting that they may have been affixed to furniture.
