WINDOWS OF APPEARANCES. The Israelite palace at Samaria probably had a Window of Appearances, a window in an upper story of the palace for royalty to show themselves to the people assembled below. The Window of Appearances has a modern parallel with the front balcony at Buckingham Palace.
