AERIAL AZEKAH. In the heart of the Shephelah, Tel Azekah is encircled on three sides by the Elah Valley, known to Bible readers as the scene of the battle between David and Goliath. Ongoing excavations of this archaeological mound have uncovered human settlements from the Early Bronze Age to the Roman period.
