TEMPLE MOUNT BULLA. A late eighth-century seal impression (bulla) from Jerusalem’s Temple Mount features two figures holding what may be a sun disk, a Judahite royal symbol. Beneath them is the title le-śar ‘ir, meaning “belonging to commander of fortress.” Similar to the inscriptions from Kuntillet ‘Ajrud, this inscription lacks the definite article (“the”).
