AT THE ENTRANCE TO ROOM J, a crushed limestone surface points to a purity ritual that took place between and in front of the two doorposts. This ritual involved pouring water on the impure person, who emerged from the room and stood on the white surface, making thus the transition from the unclean state back to the status of a regular member of the household.
