SIGNIFICANT STEPS. In 2018, archaeologists at Hazor uncovered a staircase that leads west, probably toward the administrative palace’s main entrance. They finished conserving this staircase and announced its discovery to the public this past summer. Extremely well preserved, the staircase consists of seven basalt steps, each approximately 15 feet long.
