MEGARIAN BOWLS. Mold-made bowls from the Anatolian coast, called Megarian Bowls, have surfaced at et-Tell. Dated to the Hellenistic period, these bowls were made in imitation of metal bowls with relief designs. This fragment from et-Tell depicts two women, presumably the Greek goddesses Aphrodite and Dione, sitting on a bench. It dates to the second century B.C.E. This attests to the prosperity of et-Tell during the Hellenistic period.
