PINS AND PROJECTILES. Several finds from the Iron Age citadel at Tel Rekhesh, including a fibula and two arrowheads, date to the Iron Age IIC (700-586 B.C.E.) and seem to have Mesopotamian origins. Used to fasten garments, the fibula dates to the seventh century B.C.E. and belongs to a type common in Mesopotamia. These finds suggest that, after the fall of the northern Kingdom of Israel, Tel Rekhesh’s new residents came from Mesopotamia.
