TIME TO GET UP. A deceased child’s salvation is alluded in the decoration of this fourth-century child’s sarcophagus. On the left, it features Ezekiel’s vision of bringing back to life dry bones, which are “the whole house of Israel” (Ezekiel 37:11-12). The other scene represents the Epiphany, a topic frequently used to decorate children’s sarcophagi on the account of featuring Jesus as a child.
