FANCY FRESCOES. Archaeologists uncovered a first-century C.E. mansion in Yodefat with frescoed walls, which resemble those at King Herod’s palace at Masada. This discovery shows that although some parts of Galilee experienced poverty during the first century, other areas thrived economically. This photograph documents the conservation of the room with three frescoed walls and a frescoed floor from Yodefat.
